Potential AI tools for pastors

Have you heard the buzz about recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and wondered how AI could be helpful to you? In this feature, we introduce some AI tools that you may find useful. There are hundreds of new ones being released each week. The authors featured in this issue presented some of these tools to our team, while we discovered others.

We must note that these tools may produce inaccurate or offensive content. We list them as tools for you to try out, but it is your responsibility to verify any content they produce that you may want to use or publish. Remember, just as with any online tool, ensure you trust the tool and understand its privacy policies before uploading sensitive information to the tool.

Writing/text generation

  • Afforai. Tools for text analysis, research, and document search.
  • AI-Writer. “AI writing assistant that helps reword and remediate . . . existing . . . content, creates unique article drafts, and provides citation lists.”1
  • Bard. Google’s conversational AI tool.
  • ChatGPT. OpenAI’s powerful machine learning-powered chatbot that engages in realistic dialogue. The chatbot can write and debug code, challenge incorrect premises, and even refuse to respond to certain requests. The model produces convincing content but can struggle with factual accuracy.
  • Claude. Constitutional AI tool. This means it provides a principal-based approach to performing chatbot functions and can handle adversarial questions.
  • Jasper AI. “Long-form AI copywriting tool and article generator that includes more than 50 content generation templates in 25 . . . languages.”2
  • Magic Write. An AI text generator where users can prompt the tool to brainstorm, generate outlines, and generate content ideas.
  • PDF Pals. A MacOS app to chat with PDF documents.
  • Perplexity AI & WordTune. ChatGPT-based, but with the unique feature of providing sources to back up the answers that it has generated.
  • Poe. Quora’s conversational AI tool that allows you to create your own bots using custom initial prompts.
  • QuillBot. AI tool to repurpose existing content into social media posts.
  • Flick & Content Studio. AI-generated social media content generator that creates ideas for posts and inspirational quotes, rewrites content, and auto-captions images.
  • Lately. AI tool that recognizes context from a larger collection of content that then creates contextualized social media posts.

Images/graphic design

  • Adobe Firefly. Use simple text prompts in more than 100 languages to create images, transform text, play with color, and more.
  • AniMagic. Turn drawings into fun animations in seconds.
  • ClipDrop. Uncrop photos to any image format, remove backgrounds, and upscale.
  • Dall-E. An image generator that creates images and art from a simple text prompt and can make realistic edits to images using a caption, remove components, and more.
  • Microsoft Designer. Quickly create beautiful designs.
  • Midjourney. An image generator that creates realistic-looking images and paintings based on text prompts paintings rather than photographs.
  • Plurana. Generates vector graphic designs.
  • Remini. An AI photo enhancer.
  • Stable Diffusion. Generates photorealistic images based on text input. Generated images can be used to fill in missing or deteriorated pieces of art.
  • Vectorizer. Converts raster images to vector graphics.

Media and video

  • Beautiful.ai. PowerPoint alternative: Paste in your text to create beautiful presentations.
  • DeepBrain. Text-to-video editor.
  • Durable. Build a website in 30 seconds with AI.
  • Gamma. PowerPoint alternative: Paste in your text to generate beautiful presentations.
  • Synthesia.ai. An AI video creator based on a script. Supports more than 120 languages.

Translation

  • DeepL. A highly accurate AI language-translation tool.
  • Google Cloud Translation. Fast, dynamic machine translation. (Different from Google Translate.)
  • Wordly.ai. Live AI translation for meetings, webinars, videos, and more.

Music

  • Amper Music. From ShutterStock, a generator that creates music from prerecorded samples and can also match music to video when the duration of the music and where the climax should fall are specified.
  • MuseNet. “OpenAI’s music generation tool that creates four-minute musical compositions. . . . Users can specify the style, instruments used and genres.”3
  • Soundraw. “AI music generator that . . . [generates] royalty-free background music”4 based on user-defined tempo, mood, genre, and theme of the song.
  • MusicLM. AI that generates high-fidelity music from text descriptions.
  • TuneBlades. Creatively extend or shorten music to any desired duration while preserving melody fundamentals.
